Got this photo via the film's site. Conjures up images from NIN's The Perfect Drug music video. Creepily good, isn't it?Think. Think more. Think again. It was supposed to be a filler for lack of attention-grabbing titles or creative chutzpah, but then it's almost funny, kinda like a parody of the affirmation that we're human beings. Well, this is life. As I know it. What I think is what you get.

Got this photo via the film's site. Conjures up images from NIN's The Perfect Drug music video. Creepily good, isn't it?Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family, Choose a f—king big television. Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players, and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance. Choose fixed-interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose a three piece suit on hire purchased in a range of f—king fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the f—k you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing f—king junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, f—ked-up brats you have spawned to replace yourself. Choose a future. Choose life . . . But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life. I chose somethin’ else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you’ve got heroin?

I love NIN's "Perfect Drug" video. I bought the Lost Highway OST solely for that song. I've long been a fan of director Mark Romanek's vids.
They don't make videos like "Perfect Drug" now, do they? I puke every time I tune in to MTV.
Von trier. No wonder Antichrist won't be shown here. He is a director of with a shear focus on the non-'filmic' approach (DOGME 95), and i would always wanted to relate him to Dziga Vertov who has the same sentiment. Von trier is a bit morally confused i think, but his style is direct and impulsive. Who could not have love/hate him for all this? ;-)
@ANDY: Yes, they don't make music videos like that anymore. Good thing I don't have access to MTV, perhaps just in time when everything went from stylish to crap. I love Mark Romanek videos too, esp. Criminal. Oh, and Lost Highway, what a complete mindfuck, isn't it?
@ADRIAN: From what I've read and gathered since I knew Von Trier (not personally of course hehe), isn't it apparent that he's flat-out atheist? Not just because of Antichrist of course.
